Tentang Lagu
Sama halnya dengan karya-karya Weda sebelumnya, “Loving You is a Sin” digarap langsung oleh sang musisi dengan asistensi dari Dawairama dan vokalis D’MASIV sekaligus penggerak label Semesta Records, Rian Ekky Pradipta. Uniknya, “Loving You is a Sin” nyaris menjadi bagian dari album DENIAL sebelum kemudian digantikan oleh lagu lain yang berjudul “Forever Mad”.
“Lagu ‘Loving You is a Sin’ ini memang memiliki genre dan narasi yang berbeda dengan keseluruhan album DENIAL,” terang musisi asal Surabaya tersebut. “Aku pun memutuskan untuk menjadikan lagu ini sebagai bonus track untuk album DENIAL yang akan segera aku ekspansi menjadi deluxe album.”
Selain liriknya yang seolah-olah menyiratkan beberapa petunjuk alias easter egg mengenai haru-biru Weda, keunikan yang juga dipancarkan oleh “Loving You is a Sin” adalah produksi musiknya. Berbeda dengan album DENIAL yang, garis besarnya, mengeksplorasi musik alternative R&B dan emo pop, “Loving You is a Sin” mendapati Weda mengeksplorasi ranah electropop dan Nu-disco. Nuansa “Loving You is a Sin” yang upbeat namun dark ini mungkin akan mengingatkan para penggemar musik dengan Lorde, Bleachers, dan Kim Petras.
